The Loyalist Market is a cut-to-order cheese and charcuterie restaurant focusing on local and regional cheesemakers. At any given time, we carry around 40 artisanal cheeses and 20 styles of charcuterie.  

We feature a full-service sandwich shop and cheese bar with various beers and wines and a retail market with over 60 local products. 

We are committed to providing the highest quality organic, non-GMO, and humanely raised products we can find, and we love to share these products with our guests!

Passion. Love. Curiosity. That describes my feelings for food - especially cheese and cured meats. I constantly want to learn more and share that experience with others. The Loyalist Market is something I've wanted to bring to life since I first stepped foot into a cheese shop at 7 years old. I hope you're as excited as we are to share your new food experiences with us!

Christopher Sottile - Founder

Chris is a graduate of the University of South Carolina. He's super passionate about real food, and more than anything he loves to talk about cheese and charcuterie. He is a self-taught charcutier (which he's pretty good at) and cheesemaker (which he's not so good at!). For several years before opening The Loyalist, he traveled the country selling cured meats to large specialty grocery chains, restaurants, and independent retail markets. Chris is ready to share the best of what he's experienced with Matthews, Charlotte, and the rest of the surrounding community. He can't wait to tell the stories of the cheesemakers, the charcutier who slept on a cot next to his cured meats, and the vintners who work tirelessly to turn grapes into wine.
